Camp Cambodia 2 Weeks

There’s nowhere quite like Cambodia for culture and community. Spend your two weeks experiencing life in peaceful Camp Beng Mealea, on the edge of lush green paddy fields and Camp Beng Pae, nestled in a forested wildlife reserve. At Beng Mealea you’ll be living near to the community’s Buddhist pagoda and the associated structures where the monks live. Beng Pae will see you living in the heart of a farming village community, there’ll be lots of visits from the local children! Become part of the community during your time with Camp Cambodia, not just an observer of it.

Work on projects at the local schools, constructing classrooms or working on the teachers accommodation block. Unbelievably, the teachers sleep in the classrooms they teach in. Make a measurable difference to the education of the local children. Get your hands muddy working our reforestation projects to replenish the forest but also to provide the community with alternative income sources and crops of their own. You’ll come to learn that the people of Cambodia face huge hardships, yet always remain positive and full of smiles. Their warmth and spirit will stay with you long after you leave.

The impact you will make

01

Habitat Restoration & Sustainable Housing (Beng Pae)

Cambodia was once rich in wildlife but due to deforestation and hunting, the ecosystem is in real danger. You’ll play an important role in helping to reforest damaged parts of this landscape to encourage some of the world’s most endangered wildlife to return. You’ll also help us build homes for needy families in the village.
