ViewKenya and Tanzania are not only extraordinary countries, but also have a rich, multicultural heritage. You’ll be living and working alongside local people on your volunteer gap year programme and working on a wide range of initiatives designed to help improve living standards within each community. Many of the people we work with are living below the poverty line and don’t have access to proper education facilities, medical treatment or even clean drinking water, so there’s a lot of work to be done.
The people you’ll live and work with are extremely friendly and welcoming and they will quickly find a special place in your heart, becoming a highlight of your gap year trip. Our environmental and wildlife conservation projects enable you to help us protect the fragile ecosystem for the benefit of the incredible wildlife that you’ll see. Our projects are located on the outskirts of the world-famous Tsavo National Parks, around the foothills of Kilimanjaro and our gorgeous beach camp on the Indian Ocean coastline of Tanzania.
If that isn’t enough to keep you busy, you can add an adventure on to your gap year experience. Why not challenge yourself to climb Africa’s tallest mountain, the mighty Kilimanjaro? Or choose a safari in one of the world’s most famous national parks for the ultimate wildlife experience. Learn to dive or improve your skills with one of our approved dive centres. We offer experiences and qualifications for all levels of divers to explore the tropical waters of the Indian Ocean.
