Cody is this week’s Fundraising Friday Star! From hosting dinner parties, selling raffle tickets and some arts & crafts – he’s been very busy!!
When I first heard about the expedition I was so excited about the trip and it felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity that I couldn’t refuse! I was a little apprehensive about the whole expedition but once I asked more questions and reassured myself, I relaxed.
To raise some of the first amount I hosted a fundraising dinner and invited some friends and family to our home. They all came over for a 3-course meal, plus drinks and were asked to make a donation based on their satisfaction of their meal.
The first dinner was a big success and with 6 people we raised over $200. It was an awesome night and I’m glad that I had help from one of my friends!
I have also been selling raffle tickets which includes 2 Gold Class cinema tickets, and chocolates around my school area and in the canteen. I have made about $100 from that and that’s will go to my next instalment.
As the first fundraising dinner went so well, I have 2 more nights booked already to help with fundraising!
I also have a market coming up in hopes of raising some money through small art and crafts projects.
This could take a while, but I am in the process of creating a cookbook that will compile a large number of donated and family recipes that we should be also selling at the market.
