Community Improvements (Terraba)

The indigenous communities of Central America have missed out on much of the economic development of the region in recent years. You will help to improve the standard of living for the local people by working on community infrastructure projects such as building classrooms, community housing and sanitation facilities

Wildlife Protection (Caño Negro)

Though Costa Rica accounts for only 0.03% of the earth’s surface, it holds 6% of the world’s biodiversity. However, the diverse flora, fauna and animal species are under threat from human activity. Your work here will help to protect the local wildlife through conservation efforts with the community.

Camp Caño Negro

A peaceful natural haven, Camp Caño Negro is based near the waters of the wetland national park and you can spot caiman basking on the banks of the water in the morning.

Location: Guanacaste, situated in the northwestern region of the country

Accommodation style: Dormitories with bunk beds typically in wooden cabins

Power: Mains electricity and US plug sockets

Camp Terraba

Camp Terraba is based in a converted school and has spectacular views across the forests surrounding it. You will be sharing the camp with your fellow volunteers and some local toucans!

Location: Puntarenas region of southern Costa Rica

Accommodation: Dorm style with bunk beds
